Ongoing Projects

Beautification

It is important for a community to be clean and free from rubbish. It is also for a community to be a comfortable and pleasant place in other ways. Beautification projects bring neighbors together and give residents a sense of pride in their community. Beautification projects include xeriscaping and landscaping with native plants.

Beautification Projects

Keep Port Aransas Beautiful understands the importance of native and natural plants, and works to educate our community, home owners, and businesses to improve their neighborhoods by not only keeping them litter-free but also through community greening and other beautification projects.

Port Aransas Welcome Entrance

There is no better way to say welcome to our community then by providing a beautifully landscaped entrance as you pass by the Port Aransas city line. Keep Port Aransas Beautiful received funds from Keep Texas Beautiful and the Texas Department of Transportation to complete beautification projects along TxDOT-maintained roads and properties. Following Hurricane Harvey, this area was inundated and impacted. KPAB is continuing to restore and maintain this beautiful, landscaped area, so that once again visitors to Port Aransas will be welcomed with beauty.

Native Plant Sale and Plant Swap

Keep Port Aransas Beautiful works to provide education on the countless benefits plants provide, including food and shelter for birds and wildlife, filtering stormwater runoff, and overall beautification of our City. The Native Plant Sale and Plant Swap hosted by KPAB is an event where the community can come and share and trade plants and buy beautiful Texas native plants. People are able to learn about local species and the importance of native species, as well as learn trick of the trade from landscape specialists. This event allows beginner-gardeners to get their feet wet and experts to share their nature’s bounty.
